Earworm of the Month: Cupid – The Big Moon

Following on from ‘The Road’ EP that was released back in March, Cupid is 3 and a half minutes of indie-based heaven.

Clean guitar riffs into distorted, heavy chords make for a song that gently caresses you and then kind of punches you in the face. But in a really nice way. It eases you into the bit where you lose your shit, if you get what I mean.

With a title like Cupid, you’d think it was about love but really it sounds like it’s more about completely missing your target. I think we can all empathise.

One thing that doesn’t miss the target though is the accompanying music video. Just like the song itself, it starts off in a demure fashion with the quartet playing the track but come the pre-chorus and it’s a hectic mess of paint balls, flour, glitter and confetti cannons.

You really couldn’t ask for more.
